Expanded Maternal Mental Health Services
Find Out How They Can Benefit Your Practice
In 2025, we're working to expand our service and support options to a broad range of maternal mental health providers, including non-prescribing practitioners. In addition to the consultation line, webinars and trainings we've been offering since 2018, we'll be rolling out additional services throughout the year. Keep checking back for updates and opportunities.
Prescriber Service
Face-to-face evaluations with a reproductive psychiatrist
Face-to-face or telehealth consultations will soon be available to perinatal patients at the request of a physician. These consultations connect a mother with a local perinatal psychiatrist for an initial evaluation. Face-to-face consultations will occur within 2 weeks of the initial request, and will include a written report sent to the referring prescriber within 48 hours. These consultations can be a great tool to support perinatal patients with immediate mental health concerns.
Consultation Line available Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm

In-office core trainings
Project TEACH will be offering core trainings to maternal care prescribing practices. These may include OB/GYN offices, primary and family medicine offices, and pediatric care offices. Our core trainings take place on-site, with a reproductive psychiatrist providing in-person training and guidance on maternal mental health topics that are relevant to your practice. These trainings are available to all providers within your practice.

Subspecialty Consultations
Our warm consultation line will also be expanding to include subspecialty consultations within the field of maternal mental health. These subspecialty consultations will connect you with a reproductive psychiatrist with specific experience and expertise in these complex concerns for pregnant and perinatal patients.

Patient Linkage
Our referral support service will now include direct patient referral linkage. To activate this service, a prescribing physician must first call Project TEACH to onboard a patient. From there, a Liaison Coordinator will work directly with your patient to help them understand available community resources and how to access them. Followup reports will be sent directly to the prescribing physician. It is important to note that while a Project TEACH coordinator will work directly with a patient, clinical responsibility remains with the prescribing physician.
Consultation Line available Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm

One of the foundational expansions in 2025 is making our support services more widely available to the range of professionals who support prenatal and perinatal individuals. Though some services will still be available only to prescribing physicians, we're pleased to be able to offer additional mental health support to pregnant persons through the community of professionals who support them on a regular basis.
Examples of non-prescribing practitioners we hope to support include:
Social workers
Doulas
Lactation counselors
Substance use counselors
Clergy
Community health workers
Nurses
Home health aides
Non-Prescriber Service
Referral Support for Non-Prescribers
Our warm line will be available to non-prescribing practitioners who work with prenatal and perinatal individuals. This consultation line provides real-time access to reproductive psychiatrists who can address mental health questions or concerns about your patients. A behavioral health expert will offer initial guidance, and a follow-up call with a perinatal psychiatrist can be scheduled within 30 minutes.

Trainings and CEUs for non-prescribers
In addition to our webinars and intensive trainings for prescribers, Project TEACH will offer professional training opportunities for non-prescribing practitioners. Our Webinar Wednesday series will now be open to both prescribing and non-prescribing providers, with each training offering CEUs or CMEs, depending on the content. Each webinar takes place over 1 hour and provides in-depth information and guidance on a topic relevant to pre- or perinatal patients.
Register for Webinar WednesdaysWe're excited to be able to expand our maternal mental health services to a wider audience. Though we still have some support programs that are only available to prescribing physicians, we are happy to welcome a new group of caregivers to the Project TEACH family!
