Led by Project TEACH’s expert team of reproductive psychiatrists, psychologists and social workers, this training program is designed to enhance your skills in supporting, assessing and managing mental health concerns in perinatal patients/individuals. We encourage all who work with perinatal individuals to attend this program. Course content will directly apply to the following professions: Maternal health prescribers (e.g., OB-GYN, Family Medicine, Pediatrics), nurses, social workers, lactation counselors, and community and allied health professionals.
Project TEACH is funded by the New York State Office of Mental Health and all services and events, such as this intensive training, are offered at no-cost to clinicians in New York State.
As a result of this program, learners will:
Understanding Mental Health Symptoms Through Biopsychosocial Lens
Screening and Assessment of PMADs
Psychotherapy and Pharmacological Approaches
Suicide Risk Assessment and Management
Motivational Interviewing
Assessment and Management of Bipolar Disorder
Assessment and Management of Bipolar Disorder
Mental Health and Social Support Services
New York State based physicians (e.g., ob-gyn, pediatric and family medicine), psychiatrists, midwives, doulas, lactation counselors, nursing professionals, residents, social workers and community and allied health professionals.
